Federico da Montefeltro Hologram

For the first time in a museum structure, a historical figure such as Federico da Montefeltro is presented in a life-size, holographic, three-dimensional representation.

The permanent installation ‘An audience with Federico‘, created by Paolo Buroni, animates the court hall on the noble floor of the Ducal Palace in Gubbio.

Commissioned by the Superintendence for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage of Umbria.

In the installation, Federico da Montefeltro relives, played by the famous actor Giulio Base.

With an unprecedented Italian Stark Hologram technology and for the first time in a museum structure, a historical figure such as Federico da Montefeltro is presented in a life-size, holographic three-dimensional representation.

The great leader dialogues for fifteen minutes with an angel, who gently but firmly asks Federico questions about his life and main events.

The idea is to re-establish an emotional bond between this great historical figure and the audience and to revive him through this impossible but believable dialogue.
