“Recovered from the Abyss: The New Beauties Restored by the Sea” is an exhibition born from the desire to showcase artefacts discovered during the installation works of the TAP gas pipeline, between the Albanian and Italian coasts, at a depth of about 780 meters. These artefacts are related to the cargo of a shipwreck dating back to the early decades of the 7th century BC.

The cargo, consisting of Corinthian-made ceramics—particularly containers for transporting foodstuffs and fine dining ceramics—represents an exceptional find with great scientific value.

The exhibition, made possible with the support of TAP, which also funded the recovery and restoration of the artefacts, offers an immersive visiting experience. Through the use of images, video projections, and sound effects, the aim is to recreate the sensation of diving into the depths of the Salentine-Albanian sea.

The journey makes use of digital technologies, tactile installations, and augmented reality, providing a more interactive experience to tell the story of the earliest Mediterranean trade during the dawn of Magna Graecia.
